In Israel, NCJW does its work through a gender lens, empowering Israeli and American women to advocate for a robust civil society. As in the U.S., NCJW brings our unique Jewish women’s progressive approach to advancing social justice and gender equality. With our grants to Israeli organizations, participation in advocacy coalitions, policy statements, and our pioneering work in education and research, NCJW is a leader of women’s and gender rights in Israel.
For more than 70 years, we have been supporting women, children, and families throughout Israeli society regardless of ethnicity, religion and economic status. We advocate for the equal status of women in the face of religious fundamentalism; women’s political leadership; women’s economic empowerment; LGBTQ rights; and educational opportunities for women. In March 2018, on International Women’s Day, we, in partnership with the Dafna Fund of Israel, will hold a symposium in Tel Aviv to discuss the findings of our “White Paper” on the current status of the feminist and women’s agenda in Israel.
